I'm not listed on the Internet Movie Database, I have no Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences never heard of me – and yet growing up in Culver City, California ('The Heart of Screenland') provided experiences with various aspects of the motion picture, television, and radio industries that began even before I was born and occurred for roughly 60 years – until I retired to New Mexico in 2005. Movies & people & companies & events that I interacted with or just witnessed included "Billy Rose's Jumbo" [1962], "Cincinnati Kid" [1965], the "Columbo" TV series, "Crimson Tide" [1995], "Dr. Zhivago" [1965], Gidget and her family, the Hollywood Blacklist, "Kindergarten Cop" [1990], Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios (and United Artists), Roger Miller, Gary Owens, Steven Spielberg's Amblin' Pictures, "The Time Machine" [1960], Universal Studios, the U.S.A.A.F. First Motion Picture Unit, Warner Bros. Pictures, "Wuthering Heights" [1939], and "Zabriskie Point" [1970]. The true-life stories related in the book might educate about The Show Business Stay tuned, the book might be published 'next year'. |
