At the start of the 1950s, there were about 3 million TV owners; by the end of it, there were 55 million, watching shows from 530 stations.
The average price of TV sets dropped from about $500 in 1949 to $200 in 1953. 1950s television was led by sitcoms & game shows;
Westerns & musicals were also hugely popular; color TV was finally starting to gain some traction.
