This online film festival began in 2013 as the Horror, Monster & Fantasy Movies Pages on the Magic Lantern Video & Book Store. But it soon became obvious that while monster and horror films had elements of fantasy, most films considered 'fantasy' were not about monsters at all – think 'Wizard of Oz': flying moneys are scary but not in the same league as vampires and zombies and Godzilla. So the few fantasy movies coded here on Page 2 were removed and Magic Lantern's Fantasy Film Festival Page was begun in early 2017.
