"Captain Z-Ro" syndicated TV series [1951-56]
 | "Captain Z-Ro and his teenage sidekick Jet (and others) travel through time learning about history in order to help the future." The production values and storylines were barely a step above kids playing in the backyard with a treehouse and some cardboard boxes; the thing to remember is that such was state-of-the-art for local children's television in the 1950s. The first season was 51 quarter-hour episodes that were aired in 1951-53 on KRON in San Francisco and KTTV in Los Angeles and kinescoped (filmed from a TV monitor) for syndication; the second season were 26 half-hour episodes on 16mm film.
