          Aldous Huxley was an English writer and philosopher. Born into the prominent Huxley family, he graduated from Balliol College, Oxford with an undergraduate degree in English literature. He authored nearly fifty books—both novels and non-fiction works -- as well as wide-ranging essays, narratives, and poems.

The story of Sir Hercules Lapith, who briefly turned Crome into a haven for dwarves, was later adapted as a 60-minute radio play by Philip Mackie,
first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 1986 and repeated since.

novelist Julian Davies wrote Crow Mellow [2014], which he described as closely based on Aldous Huxley's novel; set in contemporary Australia,
it updates the satire to cover the hyper-capitalist XXIst Century in which the sex is more overt and art too has become a commodity.
