Amazon's 100 Books To Read In A Lifetime

In late 2013, the Book Editors at Amazon put together a list of '100 Books To Read In A Lifetime', which they defined as 'a bucket list of books to create a well-read life'. The books were listed on the Amazon website { at http://www.amazon.com/100Books } and then Amazon had members of their Goodreads 'social cataloging' website perform a similar vote; those results are posted at this Amazon link.
Less than half are on both lists, so the combined entries here listed about 160 titles.
Then in Summer 2014, Amazon's Editors devised the '100 Children's Books To Read In A Lifetime' list; because of the overlap factor,
these three pages then grew to almost 200 titles.

  | "Encyclopedia of The American Novel" [2013] by Abby H.P. Werlock
Very strange situation: found the book on a Google research link which displays cover and contents, stating that the first edition was published on paper in 2013 and the second edition as an ebook, albeit with a paper ISBN, published in March 2016. Nobody sells the book, even the Google reference page showed 'No price No rating' for Amazon & B&N & Books-A-Million & IndieBound {page is now gone}. Looks/sounds like a good book, so coded here as is, in case things ever get resolved. • "Provides a comprehensive reference to the novel in American literature with over 900 entries containing critical analyses and synopses of individual novels, novelist biographies, essays on fiction genres, and more." |

  | Captain Yossarian tries desperately to get grounded so he will not have to fly any more bombing missions over Hitler's Europe: anyone who goes to war is crazy, but if he asks to be grounded for being crazy, then he's not crazy anymore and he has to keep flying – 'catch 22'. A gut-wrenching satire.
