1964 +
1972 +
1991-92 +
2002
The rigid theocracy of the Salem colony in Massachusetts (circa 1692) was a community engulfed by hysteria, fear & suspicion. When a young girl accuses another of being a witch, self-righteous church leaders and townspeople insist that she be brought to trial, where neighbor testifies against neighbor. A powerful parable of the Congressional witchhunts that were led by Sen. Joe McCarthy in 1950s America. |
