Before and after the Millennium, various publications chose 'Best of' lists of all kinds.
This list showed up in 2018, and is about the favorite novel of American readers; while skewed toward recent bestsellers, the list still includes "Don Quixote" and other classic European works. After watching the two-hour television special (included just below), readers were invited to vote online for their personal favorites - plural votes are allowed! Voting was available May 22 thru October 18. The full 8-part series of "The Great American Read" launched on 11 September 2018, along with toll-free phone numbers for each book. Results of the voting were shown on the final episode of that series on October 23. |
