"Paddington" animated TV series [BBC-TV 1976]
One of the best-known adaptations of Paddington Bear; this 56-episode stop-motion animated B.B.C. television series was first broadcast on 5 January 1976; the storylines were
based on comedic incidents from the books, chosen to appeal to the TV audience which included much younger children than those that the books were written for.
Produced at London-based animation company FilmFair (now WildBrain); written by Michael Bond, directed & animated by Ivor Wood and director of animation Barry Leith; the series had an extremely distinctive appearance: Paddington was a stop-motion puppet moving in a three-dimensional space in front of gloomy two-dimensional backgrounds, which were frequently sparse black-and-white line drawings, while all other characters were 2D drawings; in one scene, Mr. Brown is seen to hand Paddington a jar of marmalade that becomes 3D when Paddington touches it. Series narrated by Michael Hordern, who also voiced all of the characters; animator Ivor Wood also worked on "The Magic Roundabout", "The Wombles", and "Postman Pat".

Queen Elizabeth II [1926-2022] of the United Kingdom shared tea with the animated Paddington Bear in a pre-recorded video shown at the Platinum Jubilee concert outside Buckingham Palace on Saturday June 4th. The monarch and the bear laughed over their shared love of marmalade sandwiches, but Paddington turned serious when the queen was called away. "Happy Jubilee, ma'am," he said, doffing his cap, "and thank you, for everything." The crowd outside greeted the video with cheers. Marmalade
The name 'marmalade' originates from the Portuguese word 'marmelo' or quince, which was made up as a preserve with thin bits of peel. Legend has it that a Spanish ship
sought refuge from a storm in Dundee Harbor in Scotland, and grocer James Keiller made a deal for a shipment of Seville oranges; his mother Janet made jam by cooking
the oranges with sugar; her innovation was to add bits of peel, thus inventing Seville orange marmalade; that product is still being produced 300+ years later.
King Kelly Marmalade [1924-2007] of Cerritos, California was bought by Smucker's and shut down.
Trader Joe's made a Seville orange marmalade with lots of orange peel; the product was discontinued in May 2021.
