"Whether or not the Trump campaign colluded with Russian interests, the campaign was at least the beneficiary of what national security agencies characterize
as Russian attempts to influence the election with inflammatory online reports targeting Hillary Clinton." ~~ August 2017 article at C.N.B.C.
"The crux of the matter: The battle around the treasonous actions of the Trump Team - versus restoring the Constitution - is being fought between
propagandists who lie and public servants who are vilified for telling the truth."  —  G.E. Nordell
18 U.S. Code § 2381 - Treason: “Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies,
giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than
five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.”
“Our boy can become president of the USA and we can engineer it. I will get all of Putin’s team to buy in on this, I will manage this process.”
and “I will get Putin on this program and we will get Donald elected.” ~~ from two emails in 2016 by Trump consultant Felix Sater

Leaders across the political spectrum formed the Committee to Investigate Russia in May 2017, an attempt to wake We The People up to already-existing cyber warfare, especially from the Russian government. The video of Morgan Freeman's warning was immediately attacked for all the wrong reasons by alt-right trolls and the mainstream media. The point that they missed is that The United States must take decisive action to protect commercial and government sites that are accessible on the internet from potential denial-of-service attacks as well as just plain shutdowns. The electrical grid, nuclear power plants, and aircraft & rail travel are all quite vulnerable to many forms of disruption. And then there is the matter of identity theft and stolen funds. |

  | "In the darkness of the web, democracy was trumped by data." • Explosive documentary that follows the money in the 2016 election cycle to the elusive billionaire Robert Mercer, who bought Breitbart News and funded the effort while inserting Steve Bannon into the presidential campaign as its manager. Mercer-owned company Cambridge Analytica used data of millions of Americans – acquired from Facebook, Google, banks, credit companies, social security, and more – and tactics honed during the U.K.'s Brexit campaign to identify voters deemed 'most neurotic or worried', whom they believed could swing for Trump. In the days before the election, using a little-known Facebook feature called 'dark posts', Cambridge Analytica deployed highly manipulative & personalized messages seen only one time by the user before disappearing. • 69-minute documentary film directed by Thomas Huchon

A Russian company controlled by several oligarchs, including Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin and his mother; the U.S. Treasury Department in June 2017 added Concord to the list of companies sanctioned for Russia's military interventions in Crimea and the Ukraine; Concord was indicted in February 2018 for backing Internet Research Agency (the Russian 'Troll Farm') and its social media campaign to turn voters against Trump's 2016 opponent; lawyers for Concord filed to have the case thrown out, but a U.S. District Judge ruled on August 13 that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has the power to pursue the case against Concord and that Mueller's appointment by the Justice Department "does not violate core separation-of-powers principles" and that Mueller had not exceeded his authority.

2018 July 15: F.B.I. agents arrested Mariya Butina on charges of being an unregistered agent of Russia, taking orders from mob-connected Russian politician Alexandr Torshin
while lobbying the N.R.A. and members of Congress; next day, the Justice Department unsealed an indictment for conspiracy against the U.S. (possible 5 years in prison)
and then a grand jury indicted her on the more serious charge of acting as an unregistered agent of the Russian government (possible 10 years in prison).
2019 April 16: Mariya Butina was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison.

Lesin, former key adviser to Vladimir Putin, was found dead in his room at The Dupont Circle Hotel in Washington, DC on 5 Nov 2015; the official ruling is that he died of blunt force trauma after falling repeatedly in his room while intoxicated; the 2016 Steele Dossier suggests that Lesin was accidentally bludgeoned to death by Russian security who were supposed to scare him; Levin's death took place just days before he was to meet with Justice Department officials about the inner workings of the Russian television channel RT. A Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed nearly two years prior finally produced documents from the city’s medical examiner in March 2019: Lesin sustained a complete fracture of his neck 'at or near the time of his death', which finding offers no clear-cut evidence of foul play.

Watkins & Wolfe
The Department of Justice notified New York Times reporter Ali Watkins in February 2018 that it had seized her phone & email records, going back several years, in an inquiry into leaks of classified information. The Times said that the seizure might have been related to her report for BuzzFeed News about attempts by Russian spies to recruit Carter Page in 2013 before he worked as a foreign policy adviser for President Trump's campaign. Watkins once had a personal relationship with James A. Wolfe, former director of security for the Senate Intelligence Committee, who was arrested in June 2018 on charges that he lied to the F.B.I. about his contacts with three reporters. In October 2018, James Wolfe pled guilty to one of the three charges that he faced for lying to the F.B.I. about his contact with a reporter; under the deal, prosecutors will seek to dismiss the other two counts at his December sentencing, where he could get from zero to six months in prison.

the deal with prosecutors calls for a 63-month prison sentence and three years of supervised probation.
