Stephen Kevin Bannon was born in November 1953 in Norfolk, Virginia; he graduated from Virginia Tech in 1976; he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy for seven years, while earning a master's degree in 1983 from Georgetown University and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School in 1985. He was hired by Goldman Sachs and transferred to Los Angeles, then opened a small investment firm. He produced 18 Hollywood films from 1990 to 1999; after about 2004, he switched to right-wing documentary & propaanda films; he worked for Breitbart News and for Cambridge Analytica prior to the 2016 election appointed chief executive of Donald Trump's presidential campaign in august 2016 On November 13, following Donald Trump's election to the presidency, Bannon was appointed chief strategist and senior counselor to the President-elect.

In October 2022, Bannon was sentenced to four months in prison and ordered to pay a $6,500 fine for defying a subpoena from the House Select Committee on the January 6th Riot, though the judge said that Bannon can remain free while he appeals his contempt of Congress conviction.
