Instructions for Initiating
Work on Your Website

PLAN A:

1. Call or email me, to have any questions about your custom website answered,

   THEN:

2. Send a check for $100 to the snail-mail address below, along with your recent sales brochures or literature or notes, to provide the exact text and data to use on your new website.

3. Log on to www.GoDaddy.com and use your credit card to pay for the URL [domain name] of your choice. The cost is $8.95 or less per year; renewal will be billed to you.
   • If your first choice is already taken, consider 'www.yourcompany__.com', where the underscores are initials of your state or city, or adding one or more dashes.
   • Include my name, address, phone and email as the technical person.
   • Forward the emails that you recieve from your domain registrar to me, especially the one with the confirmation of logon ID & password. [Quite secure: you can change the password after the website is completed.]

   If you have an existing domain, you can transfer it to www.GoDaddy.com for $7.75, which extends for 1 year beyond your current expiration date; renewal will be billed to you.

4. Log on to www.NetFirms.com (or other local hosting service provider of your choice). NetFirms charges $60 per year for small website hosting; their Plus hosting option includes 100MB of disk space & ten email addresses; payment is by credit card & renewal will be billed to you.
5. Forward the emails that you receive from your hosting service to me, especially the one with the confirmation of logon ID & password. [Quite secure: you can change the password after the website is completed.]

6. If you do not already have a company-specific email account – besides personal email or logon/email at an I.S.P. such as EarthLink or AOL – then go to www.gmail.com and sign up for free email as needed.
   • If your first choice is already taken, consider 'yourcompany__ @..', with the underscores replaced by initials of your city or state ot with your ZIP code, or adding one or more dashes.
   • Consider multiple e-ddresses by functional department or other category, such as 'your-co-sales @..' or 'your-co-shipping @..'.

7. Once these procedures are completed, work will begin on the design & coding & construction of your new website.

PLAN B:

1. Call or email me, to have any questions about your custom website answered, and decide on your new URL, in the form 'www.genordell.com/gwd/yourcompany/ ',

   THEN:

2. Send a check for $50 to the snail-mail address below, along with your recent sales brochures or literature or notes, to provide the exact text and data to use on your new website.

3. If you do not already have a company-specific email account – besides personal email or logon/email at an I.S.P. such as EarthLink or AOL – then go to www.gmail.com and sign up for free email as needed.
   • If your first choice is already taken, consider 'yourcompany__ @..', with the underscores replaced by initials of your city or state ot with your ZIP code, or adding one or more dashes.
   • Consider multiple e-ddresses by functional department or other category, such as 'your-co-sales @..' or 'your-co-shipping @..'.

4. Once these procedures are completed, work will begin on the design & coding & construction of your new website.

PLAN C:

1. Call or email me, to provide the logon & passwords for both the old website and the new website, and to have any questions answered. The plan will typically be replacement of key pages on the old site to redirect visitors to a matching page or to the main/index page of the new site (such as one created thru Plan A above).

2. Send a check for $40 to the snail-mail address below, along with your recent sales brochures or literature or notes reflecting any revised information to be used on the redirect pages.
   • Basic redirect pages are those that show the visitor the new website URL for perhaps five seconds, then automatically go there.
   • In some cases, such as a Contact Page on the old site, it may be best to display the new information and provide a manual hyperlink going to the new website.

3. Once these procedures are completed, work will begin on the coding and installation of your redirect pages.
