This online film festival began in 2013 as the Horror, Monster & Fantasy Movies Pages on the Magic Lantern Video & Book Store. But it soon became obvious that while monster and horror films had elements of fantasy, most films considered 'fantasy' were not about monsters at all – think 'Wizard of Oz': flying moneys are scary but not in the same league as vampires and zombies and Godzilla. So the few fantasy movies coded on Page 2 were removed and Magic Lantern's Fantasy Film Festival Page was begun in early 2017.

He promoted and developed a simultaneous Spanish-language version of Universal Pictures's 1931 "Drácula" which starred Bela Lugosi in the English-language version. London real estate agent Renfield takes papers to Transylvania for vampire Count Dracula's signature; Renfield is drugged and becomes Dracula's servant. On the ship to England, Dracula turns Lucy Weston into a vampire, and they suck away the blood of the entire ship's crew. Once in London, Dracula seduces Mina Seward, whose father calls in medical expert Dr. Van Helsing, who devises a plan to save Mina.

  | Longtime much-wanted 'lost film', until an original nitrate print was discovered in Wisconsin in the 1970s. The very first cinema version, which had the monster 'created' - in a vat, by burning a dummy and reversing the footage - instead of the later method of cobbling together body parts; the story also has a different ending {no spoilers here!}.
