'Dr. Seuss' was the author and illustrator of books beloved by children and adults around the world.
His cartoon artistry was further enhanced with a gift for rhythmic prose – a pattern based on
the beat of the ship's engine during a 1936 vacation in Europe.

On Tuesday 2 March 2021, Dr. Seuss Enterprises told The Associated Press that six of the late author's books will no longer be published due to insensitive and racist imagery. The six Dr. Seuss books that will cease publication are "And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street", "If I Ran The Zoo", Sales of decades-old children's books by Dr. Seuss quickly skyrocketed after the announcment that six books would stop being sold.
"These books portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong," the company said. "Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan
to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprises' catalog represents and supports all communities and families." The decision was made last year after a review conducted
with 'a panel of experts, including educators'.
"McElligot's Pool", "On Beyond Zebra!", "Scrambled Eggs Super!", and "The Cat's Quizzer".
{ those six books are highlighted above & below with the thumb down symbol. }
