'Dr. Seuss' was the author and illustrator of books beloved by children and adults around the world.
His cartoon artistry was further enhanced with a gift for rhythmic prose – a pattern based on
the beat of the ship's engine during a 1936 vacation in Europe.

On Tuesday 2 March 2021, Dr. Seuss Enterprises told The Associated Press that six of the late author's books will no longer be published due to insensitive and racist imagery.
"These books portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong," the company said. "Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan
to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprises' catalog represents and supports all communities and families." The decision was made last year after a review conducted
with 'a panel of experts, including educators'.

The six Dr. Seuss books that will cease publication are "And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street", "If I Ran The Zoo",
"McElligot's Pool", "On Beyond Zebra!", "Scrambled Eggs Super!", and "The Cat's Quizzer".
{ those six books are highlighted above & below with the Seuss book that ceased publication in 2021 thumb down symbol. }

Sales of decades-old children's books by Dr. Seuss quickly skyrocketed after the announcment that six books would stop being sold.
Two days later, nine of Amazon's top 10 print best sellers were Dr. Seuss books.

Dr. Seuss  Quotations

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter / and those who matter don't mind”
{ probably said first by American financier & statesman Bernard M. Baruch [1870-1965] }

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot / Nothing is going to get better. It's not.” – in "The Lorax" [1971]

“Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So . . . Get on your way!” – in "Oh, The Places You'll Go" [1990]

“The more that you read, / the more things you will know. / The more that you learn, / the more places you'll go!”

“A person's a person, no matter how small.” – in "Horton Hears A Who"

“Today you are you / That is truer than true / There is no one alive / Who is youer than you” – in "Happy Birthday To You!" [1959]

“Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope.”

“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”

“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”

“Today was good. / Today was fun. / Tomorrow is another one.”

— Dr. Seuss (Ted Geisel)
