"Dupont's Cavalcade of America" radio & TV shows [1935-1961]
U.S. chemical manufacturer Dupont was accused of profiteering during World War I (i.e. 'merchants of death') and so decided to attempt restoration of their corporate reputation
by producing a pro-American historical radio program (the public did not buy Dupont's products directly, it was essentially a public relations problem). The radio series ran on CBS
from 1935 to 1939 and on NBC from 1940 to 1953; the network television series ran on NBC from 1952 to 1953 and on ABC from 1953 to 1957 (total 133 TV episodes).
"The DuPont Show of The Month" - 90-minute live adaptations of stageplays and movies - ran from 1957 to 1961.
