The Circus & Wild West Shows
Tom Mix appeared in a series of Wild West shows, such as The Miller Bros. Wild West Show (1906-09); in the Widerman show in Amarillo, Texas; in Seattle's
Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (with wife Olive Mix); and in Will A. Dickey's Circle D Ranch (1910). (The latter led to work at Selig Pictures.) After becoming a movie star,
he appeared with the Sells-Floto Circus in 1929, 1930 & 1931 at a reported weekly salary of $20,000. He appeared with the Sam B. Dill circus, which he bought in 1935.
The circus failed in 1938 under management of his daughter Ruth.

Radio Programs [1933-50]
In 1933, Ralston-Purina obtained permission to produce the "Tom Mix Ralston Straight Shooters" radio program, which lasted ten years after Mix's death. Mix never appeared on these broadcasts, and was instead played by radio actors: Artells Dickson (early 1930s), Jack Holden (from 1937), Russell Thorsen (early 1940s), and Joe 'Curley' Bradley (from 1944). The Ralston company offered ads during the program for listeners to send in by mail for various prizes, including a series of 12 special Ralston-Tom Mix Comic books.
