"The Hazards of Helen" silent serial [1914-1917] /tt0004052/
silent serial about a tough cookie gal (initially played by Helen Holmes ) and directed by her husband, JP McGowan. Helen was a tougher gal than Pauline and a great deal spunkier. Three episodes were filmed in downtown Las Vegas and the Union Pacific Railyards in the winter and spring of 1915. Most of the 119 episodes from this serial are considered "lost" films. However, a few episodes do survive.

Considered to be a "lost" film, all that remains of this one are a few still pictures in Special Collections, Lied Library, Univ of Las Vegas, Nevada. The filmmakers hired Alta Ham, the wife of prominent lawyer, Artemus Ham, whose family had come to Las Vegas in the mid-1900s.
