“I do not find in orthodox Christianity one redeeming feature.”
The Judeo-Christian Bible is the main document supporting the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Protestant Christian religions.
The contents are often mis-read, mis-interpreted, mis-quoted, and-or mis-construed by pretenders intent on other agendas
such as evangelicalism, fascism, racism, and political oppression.

  | "The Passion Play of Ober-Ammergau" [Hollaman-Eaves/Edison Mfg. Co. Feb 1898] This film was generally considered to be 'lost' until September 2007 when a secondary source claimed that a 16mm reduction print (presumably of the edited 2-reel version) exists at the George Eastman House film archive; restoration prints are said to be optically enlarged back to 35mm; however, as of April 2014, no digital version of this historic motion picture appears to have been released. The original showings were three-reelers [28:22] and the subsequent wide release - for use in churches - was edited down to two reels (approx. 20 minutes) • Co-produced by Albert G. Eaves, Richard Hollaman, Thomas A. Edison; directed by Henry C. Vincent; starring Frank Russell {as Jesus}, Frank Gaylor {as Judas Iscariot}, Fred Strong {as Pontius Pilate} • bare credits at IMDb |

"The Pilgrimage Play: The Life of The Christ" in Los Angeles, California [debut 1920]
  | Board members at the Hollywood Bowl opposed the plan of heiress Christine Wetherill Stevenson [1878-1922] to produce a second religious stageplay, so she bought land across Cahuenga Pass and had the 1,200-seat Pilgrimage Theatre built and running by Summer 1920; rather than author, she considered herself to be 'transcriber' of the play, since all of the dialoque is direct quotations from the King James Bible; she died suddenly at age 44. The theater group erected a 32-foot-tall memorial steel cross in her honor on a nearby ridge in 1923; the property was deeded to Los Angeles County in 1941.
A 90-minute color film version was produced in 1949, with Nelson Leigh as Jesus of Nazareth and Stephen Chase as narrator Simon called Peter. A separation of church and state lawsuit blocked county subsidies for the religious play and perform-ances ended with the 1964 Summer season. The venue was renamed for longtime supporter County Supervisor John Anson Ford [1883-1983] in 1976 and continues to be used for a wide range of theatrical and musical events.

unfinished opera "Moses und Aron" by Arnold Schönberg [1874-1951]
The third act was unfinished from 1932 and performances generally were of the two completed acts; Hungarian composer Zoltán Kocsis completed the last act with permission of Schönberg's heirs in 2010. There was a concert performance of the two acts in Hamburg in March 1954 with Hans Herbert Fiedler as Moses and Helmut Krebs as Aron, conducted by Hans Rosbaud; the first staging was in Zurich at the Stadttheater in June 1957, again with Hans Herbert Fiedler as Moses and conducted by Hans Rosbaud, but with Helmut Melchert as Aron. The German film of 1975 devised a third act without music and with Moses speaking Biblical text based on notes left by Schönberg •
